So I finally got the DCC unit out of the dash of my 89 9000 CD (remove ashtray holder, ACC unit, seat heater switches, then it popped out-easier than I feared), and as my wife suspected, there is a back-lighting bulb inside the thing (comes apart when the springs are off). But the bulb is mounted on a printed circuit board, and I thought I should ask if anyone else has replaced this before I try to remove it; I feel lucky that I haven't broken anything yet, and would like to try to keep it that way :o). Any experiences in replacing this bulb? Of course my wife is more interested in fixing the headlights that go out at night. The fuses are OK. I found the relays by the battery. Is there any way to test them? My 'bench' equipment consists of a DVOM, continuity tester, and a battery charger. TIA Tom Trueb Delphi, IN 89 9000 CDT Auto
