Subject: price/reliability: used 98, 97, or 96?

I'm interested in buying a Saab 900s, probably in the spring. I'm under the impression that not many changes happened between 96 and 97 models. I've also heard that the new 9-3's are cheaper new, compared to the 97, and 98 models when they were new. I'm leaning towards a '96, or a '98, but for some reason I don't want to rule out the 97's or a even a used 9-3. I guess I'm more interested in reliability, as I would rather save a little bit longer in order to get a newer, more reliable model. Anybody give me some insight/information that will help me narrow it down? Thanks! Sean Corliss SCorlissnopsamress.com (used to have a 1987 Saab 900)
