Subject: 88 Saab 900 very rough at cold start

I'm wondering if anyone out there is familiar with their Saab 900 running very roughly when starting it cold. Mine is in overall great shape. The only complaint I have is that it runs extremely roughly for the first 1 or 2 minutes after I first start it in the morning. I've had the car for about 8 months, have just replaced the cylinder head (it was running roughly when cold before we redid the cylinder head also). Once the engine has been running for a short time the car performs beautifully but the rough running is really quite annoying. I have also noticed that my fuel consumption per tank seems to fluctuate a lot even though my driving conditions/habits don't change at all. This seems a bit strange to me. I get between 320 - 420 kms per tank. Does anyone have any thoughts, experience or advice on this sort of rough running problem? Thanks in advance, Rick
