The convertible top on my '87 900 is working normally, except when it has been down for awhile. Then, when putting it back up, the 25 amp fuse (the $6 one in the black plastic casing on the passenger side of the engine compartment) will immediately blow, before the hydraulic pump motor makes a sound. If the top is put all the way down, and then back up within a few minutes, it works fine. I have checked: the hydraulic system for leaks and proper fluid level. the wiring I could easily get to for wear/shorts and corrosion. the hinges on the roof frame including the nylon washers for any visible signs of binding. starting and stopping the roof repeatedly going up and down, also looking for any binding. the position of the stops for the roof in the down position. My guess is that after the top settles into the down position for a while, the frame is binding somewhere, and I just haven't found it yet. Anybody have any other suggestions??
