I had about a year and a half before the sluggish shifting turned into slow acceleration and shifting at 5000rpms. I took it to my Saab dealer and they put in a new transmission. My engine is still fine, the trans works fine and I am happily still driving "Bjorn" my 1986 900S. BTW, the transmission went at 227,000 miles. Most Non-Saab cars don't even last to half that mileage. I now have almost 300,000 miles on it. I would say wait a bit with yours or do that clutch thing the other guy spoke of. You'll know when it's time. Hope I was a help. -- Ellis http://users.rcn.com/ljstier/
