Subject: 96' 900se steering issues...

Group, I own a 96 900se with 53,200mi (yup ... JUST outside of the warranty) and a new noise is troubling me. When I turn the wheel left to right, I hear a "popping" sound in the passenger front wheel. It almost sounds plastic, but I can't see anything wrong from the outside (meaning plastic). Being my 5th Saab, I know it's probably not cheap, but I'd like an IDEA of what it is, and how long I have before it becomes unavoidable to repair. I've done a LOT of work to the older body style, so I'm not as "tuned" as to what's down there. I was thinking it could be a CV joint, but the car isn't moving so I'm not sure why it would make that noise. (It also makes it while moving) Any guesses? -Doug -- _[_[ Doug Hardman | dougnopsamercreek.net ]_]_ _[_[ Principal | Silver Creek, Ltd. ]_]_ _[_[ Tallmadge, OH | www.silvercreek.net ]_]_
