Re 1996 seats - Take connections apart and check with a meter, then plug back in as they may not be making a good contact. Don't know if they have a thermostat in them, possibly a load switch (switch with a spring attached?) can you unzip the covers on your seats? Are both seats stuffed or only one? Pete, there is a crude thermostat(?)/switch built into the seat (my 86 900) and the only way to check it is working I have found is to disconnect the plugs on a cold day, sit on the seat and check the circuit with a meter. I have replaced the heating pad once and it wasn't too difficult as the seat covers have zips in my car (5-door) I also have a 91 3-door but the seats are built differently and I haven't been brave enough to take them apart:-) Good luck Malc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
