I'm a college student who travels between Milwaukee and Chicago all the time. I have a 1995 Saab 900S. So far things have been going ok. It's my experience with Saabs that some of them are great; if you get a bad one though you're in trouble. My friend bought a 1980 Saab 900 that had over 300K miles on it and it was still running perfectly! If you're going to buy a Saab don't get a new one. Get a tried and proven older one, those last forever. The comment about Honda Civics is so true! Those last FOREVER and they're cheap to maintain. Volvo's last forever too. Honda's are pretty basic to drive. Saabs and Volvos are quirkier and more expensive to maintain. Volvos tend to drive smooth as silk whereas in a Saab you're going to feel the road. Also the steering is really tight, which I love! I need steering that I can sink my teeth into, which i just don't get from a Volvo or Honda (though they are vastly better than this rental Chevy Lumina I drove recently) OK that's my $.02 :-) racerx018nopsamcom BTW I'm selling my '95 saab 900 S trying to get 13k for it email me if you're interested!
