Peter, I don't know if the 900i is close to my 1985 900T US, but I just replaced the rear pads for $14 US. It only took me 15 minutes in my driveway. I have had the disks off before and it is a simple job. A new set of rotors would run about $100 on-line. Depends on your parts availability. I'm sure I could shop around and do better.
