Hi All, My 1989 Saab 900 Three door has begun to make a really funny noise when I shift down in first and second gears. It doesnt happen when I shift up and doesnt seem to be present in the 3, 4 and 5 gears. Before I take it to a mechanic and possibly get really poor really quickly, can anyone hazard a guess as to what it is and a rough guess on how much it will cost. It is definitely coming from the tranny area and it sounds like tires on an airplane do when you land ( inside the plane not that high pitched squeak. ) Anybody want to get out their magic 8 ball and try to guess?
