Yes to the sway bar. Get some good (meaning not cheap) struts for up front. Those will help. I replaced the shoes on my '83 Turbo from Goodyear NT, which I guess is the european car size of the GT. Maybe true, but I put Real GTs on which were 205's over the existing 195's (or 195 over 185, can't remember) BIG difference in handling, ride and especially cornering. Tire salesman work on commission so trust their knowledge but go for a prompted discount. Prompted by you....of course.
