Subject: Re: Smell of gasoline

My saab occasionally has the same smell i usually notice it after turbo whines down after a heavy acceleration(doesn't take much for it to kick in)usually it only happens a few minutes after start up , after it's been driven. i think the smell is just the discharge of extra gasoline in the cylinders, have your turbo checked , it might need to be tuned, usually you'll notice alittle smoke at certain times while it's idling, that's a good sign that it needs it. If your like me you do most of your repairs yourself and you can only find 1 shop in a 200 mile zone that actually can help you with major problems like transmision and turbo issues, even with my collection of books cd roms and other magazines it still doesn't help. i have better luck getting things for my antique diesel VW. Most Saab dealerships can do the tune up rather fast and they do it right so dont trust anyone with your saab, believe me i know, there's a guy in knoxville that does saabs he likes to break things, then when you pick it up he'll tell you all this stuff that needs to be replaced. so be careful.i wasn't the only one skeptical about this guy. * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet's Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free!
