I agree, the 4-cylinder is great, but Saab is now developing a completely new engine, this engine will be equipped with variable compression, a great new system invented by Saab mastermind Per Gilbrand, some info: A revolutionary V6 or V5 engine with much power (225 to 300 hp) and very small consumption (about 25 km. a litre) With variable compression the engine will be able to run on various sorts of fuel. Even salad-oil will do... > >- a 4WD concept or they´ll loose lot of market in the next future, cause > >they lost a lot of traction in the past with 200hp on 2 front wheels... > > Agreed. Although the 9-5 Aero is OK in this area. 4WD will come (next year) first only for a crosscountry version of the estate, afterwards maybe in other models too. Saab was almost dead after positioning their cars (900 and 9000) higher in the market (especially the 900) some years ago, if they would introduce a larger car I don 't think this will be sold (very much). Better introduce a small car (9-2)... > > (can´t compare a BMW 7xx, Mercedes S to any SAAB) > >- an electronic stabilizing system (ESP) or they won´t be that safe enough > >in the future I believe they're working on that too. > >- a tiptronic shifting and lower windnoise level inside the car Saab has had other forms of shifting (sensonic) wasn't much of a success, don't count on tiptronic. I would really like a 9-5 hatch too, but it won't come (well, that's what I think) because of the 9-5 wagon. The first new Saab will probably come in 2002, the successor of the 9-3. Maybe there will be some kind of a coupé or roadster before (or a 9-2) but I don't really think so. I hope so. Geert Geerts Saab Site: http://www.theoffice.net/saab
