I'm not surprised that it's made by Adam Opel as it too is a GM company and they may of "centralized" engine production there in Germany. THe diesel used in the GM/Vauxhall/Opel Astra, Vectra, Corsa is a 2.0litre engine of their own design. GM used to use an Izusu engine, which unofficially is and was a better engine.
