I believe the 9-3 uses the same electronics for the alarm, so you should be able to have them turned off. The blinks and "tweets" can be programmed seperately for each function (lock, unlock, hatch/trunk open). Alternatively, if you're insane, or you really hate your neighbors, the alarm can be programmed to honk up to 7 times and to flash the lights to match.
