I have the same noise when the pads are getting thin. Thus far, most of the replies say this. Thanks to all for the help. The car only has 110K miles on it, not much for a 1984. The clunk seems to happen after I start moving in reverse, like after I've moved several feet. If I had time, I'd check it myself, but I'll probably bring it in to my local Saab mechanic, who's been very good, in the next couple weeks. -jw -- john s. webster the vortext group -- writing svcs. 218 waterman st. #306c providence, rhode island 02906 email: jwebsnopsam.net or johnwebster1nopsamhlink.net in Y2K ------------------------------------------------------
