<Snip> Wil, I had a similar problem in my old 900. I suspect that the inner workings of the door are basically the same. So I will discribe the symptoms I had and how I got around it, see if it sound the same and if it's any use... Key would lock and unlock the door, cental locking would work most of the time but occasionally would not. Then the handle would not open the door from the inside or outside!! Lowered window (electric) and removed the door trim, tricky with door closed but can be done with care. Remove inner water shield. Put the window back up. Using a flashlight and long screw driver managed to "trip" the door catch mechanism and open the door. Strip out the door catch mechanism - found the following: Small pin in the mechanism is used as a slide guide/location device - had come loose so part of the catch would not work - welded it back in place. The cental locking bit is wrapped in plactic - it was full of dirt/rust etc - cleaned it all out including the wiring connections. The lubrication on the catch mechanism was all dried out so it was binding. Put it all back together and there have been no problems since. Suspect your car's problem is basically the same. Good luck, let us know how you get on Malc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
