Subject: Re: ** turbo cost? **

I cannot see your car, but if the oil and filter have been changed religiously, I find it hard to believe your turbo is ready to quit. The exceptions are if you dog your car and don't allow the turbo to cool down before you shut your engine off. Your 88 900 T should have the intercooled turbo. I had an 83 900T for over 13 years. Everytime I took it to the dealer for service, they would always say my turbo bearing were awfully loud. They always quieted down, when I changed the oil and filter. I used Castrol GTX 10W30, moved to 10W40 and tried the Castrol GTX 20W50 for a while. I had 195,234 miles, when I made the mistake of trying Slick 50. Two thousand miles later the engine had to be replaced. The turbo was still okay. The first oil and filter change after the engine was replaced I put in Militec-1. My 83 had over 251,000 miles on it, when it was totalled by a truck. I moved on to an 87 900S and now drive and 87 9000S. I have been using Militec-1 for over 6 years. No, I do not sell it. In fact I buy mine on base at Andrews AFB. If you want more info on Militec-1, check out www.apdinc.com. There is a lot of info. The product works.
