<Snip> Mat, How bald are your tyres? If you are down to 2-3mm of thread then the grip is going to be seriously compromised. It's a difficult one really to answer. If your in town and you get seriously dumped on (I used to live near Worcaster on route 140)then leave your car at home or get a set of chains and put a shovel in the boot. Snow tyres aren't the ultimate answer. I have seen people driving on them who think they are invincable and then wonder why they end up in the trees. I have used rally tyres on a road car in the winter here in Scotland which helped in the snow but made absolutely no difference on ice No a good quality make of tyres, michelin etc will probably do the bizz because at the end of the day the roads are going to be jammed up with other vehicles sliding around. Boston, nice town, remember it well No more planes slid off the end of the runways recently? Good luck, Malc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
