I have the same problem with my 94 9000. A fellow wrote me a while back and told me he had his srs inspection and they found the leaky core and replaced the core no charge. I took my 9000 in for the inspection hoping they would find my leaky core and I would get a free core also. No such luck. They didn't even mention that I had a leak, I know I sure smell antifreeze though. I am planning on doing the change myself this summer.
