<Snip>, Andrew, Sounds abit odd. I have a 1986 900i which has a hydraulic clutch. I tow a car trailer with it when I move my rally car about. It has about 170,000 miles on it, which I am responsible (and my good lady) for 100,000 miles. I have put one new clutch in it so far. Don't take me the wrong way here but your not resting you foot on the clutch pedal as you drive are you? With a hydraulic system that could cause premature wear as, would a badly fitted, duff clutch kit or one where the release bearing piston is not retracting fully. So unless you are doing racing starts and slipping the clutch there is something wrong somewhere, it's not a weakness of the design. I know a couple of other guys who tow their hill climb cars with saabs, turbo's, and report no problems, infact they love them for the power and the fact they can get a "ton" of spares,in them as well as the car on the back Malc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
