There have probably been a few changes to the IDS program since 1983. I was stationed at SHAPE, Belgium, when I bought my 83 900T. People buying on the IDS program had a choice of having there cars delivered to Brussels or picking the car up at the factory in Sweden. I picked mine up at the factory. Instead of having Saab ship my car back to the States, I had the car for about a year and had the Government ship it. I took the $400 for shipping and converted it to the cost of the metalic sleight blue paint. My 83 900T cost me $13,239 at the factory. That was $13,050 and $189 for the temporary registration and insurance. If you take delivery of the car in Europe the catalytic converter more than likely will not be installed. If Saab ships it back to the States, all of that will be taken care of before you pick your car up.
