Subject: 900S Clutch Problem

Four months ago, I bought a 1995 Saab 900S to tow a 1,300kg, 2-berth caravan but after 2,000 miles, I had to have a new clutch fitted. I've since done a tour of the hills of Scotland. After just another 2,000 miles, I've had to have another new clutch ! I previously drove a 1984 Saab 900 2.0GLS for 6 years, towing a similar size caravan. I never had any problems with clutch wear. My servicing man says the cable operated clutch on the 900S is beefier than the hydraulic operated clutch on the 900GLS. Does anyone use a 900S for towing ? Any reassurance that its a good towing vehicle would be much appreciated.
