Subject: Re: Is Saab currently owned by GM?

Everything that I've read on this indicates that GM wants to keep SAAB as more of a "boutique line." The 93 that you recently bought is very much in keeping with the SAAB 900 of yesterday. The 95 probably has more GM influence and shares its platform (but not mechanicals) with GM's European Opel line (I think the Opel model is called the Vectra). Not to worry, the 95 has been well received by the press in Europe and elsewhere. I agree with you on the upshift light -- very annoying, but I've never seen that on a GM car in the U.S. GM realized that it made mistakes on SAABs before when it insisted in the mid-90s on placing an old-style V6 in some 900 models. From what I've read the car was a disaster. It appears that GM is backing off with SAAB and trying to learn from SAAB instead of making it into a Buick. You should also know that Volvo is wholly owned by Ford now. <grw888nopsamo.com> wrote in message news:388AF6EA.B831C301nopsamo.com... > GM is buying the shares it didn't already own.
