I would like to see additional pictures of the sidewall of the tyre. I believe someone else on this thread stated that he/she believed that the tyre struck an object while travelling backwards at high speed. I would say that it is conceivable also that perhaps the tyre was "curbed", as in struck a high curb while the car was turning - perhaps quickly. This may be consistent with the fact that it is on the left side of the car. Whether or not this directly caused the crack in the suspension is not known. I also agree with the possibility that the car may have been damaged prior to delivery. Difficult to prove? Definitely. Though I'm not exactly a Mechanical Engineer I would be interested in seeing a computerized finite element analysis of the suspension part.... Anyone know enough about MSC Dytran to put this together? -Taufan
