Bernie, If the 93 9000 is a 5 spd, there are no hydraulics perse in the gear box. The clutch is hydraulically assisted by brake fluid. If the gear shift is shaking, it is time to check the lower and upper motor mounts. I have an 87 9000S 5 spd. All of the 9000s, 2.0L and 2.3L have upper and lower motor mounts. If they go out it causes problems with the shifting. Shaking is one problem and difficulty getting into a gear is another. Check to see which mounts you have on the bottom. Some 9000 models have the expensive hydraulic mounts. Besides, you should not consider buying the car unless it is checked out by a good independent Saab tech. If the mounts are broken, make the owner fix them or subtract the cost of the repair from the asking price.
