Take the 1988 900 with the 5spd. As others have said, the automatic transmissions "sucks". The manual makes the Saab fun to drive and you won't have to worry about turbo maintenance. The 900 is a practical, sports car. It has a great suspension and can provide many miles of fun working the gears through the turns. On the practical side, our Saab friend in Scotland uses his 900 as a camper, sleeping in the back with the seat folded down. I tried it for size and it would work for me.
