Subject: Re: Locked tranny

need more info- what kind of tranny- how many speed,- (yes you can fit a 4 speed in there)- where is the car,- we bought our 84 with a bad turbo and elec problems for $5oo.oo us. - total lock up is probably something in the diff or the primary drive. Put it in gears a see if the shift feels right. Then have it in gear with the break off and rock the car back and forth while listening at the front end and see if anything under the clutch cover moves. try all the gears and see if Neutral makes a differance. if it dosn't want to shift into rev, there is a chance the reverse selector came loose and it is shifted into 2 gears at once.(it's only held on by one 10mm headed bolt.) Just because you find something simple that caused the lock up- don't thing the problem is solved as the car did come to a screeching halt while going down the road!- The 5 speed we have been shopping for is available for $500. with low milage at just about any wrecking yard that deals in saabs.A mechanic with a lift and some air tools can change one out in about 3hours. <gac123nopsameja.com> wrote in message news:8bbplp$7ap$1nopsam1.deja.com... > I looked at a 90 900 3 dr with 126K mi.
