Alfred, I've had similar things happen to my 900. Coolant was leaking through the valve by the driver's feet, the clutch shaft seal died and the gearbox oil leaked (this is a manual, so it might be of absolutely no value to you) and the tick tick is from the belts. It had a high pitched -- but not squeaking -- intermittent sound, so I foolishly put on belt dressing, now I have a tick tick if I don't repeatedly dress it.
