Chris, Don't know about the heat being a problem, but I have found that the locks on both my 91 and 86 900i's would give me problems occasionally. Cure, so far, has been to: Remove door trim and lock assemblies Clean all moving parts, check for wear (Had to weld a pin back in on the 1986 900) Reassemble and lubricate all moving parts. Clean all electrical contacts on the central locking. replace trim etc. Seems to of worked as I did this three months ago and every thing is fine (touch wood etc) Hope this helps Malc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
