There is the "depending on how you drive" clause. If you are an "enthusiatic" driver, your mileage will be lower. If you only use your turbo boost to get you up to speed, then your mileage will be better. You actually need very little power to MAINTAIN a given speed, hence the high mileage (as displayed on the computer) once you get up to 70 mph. Manual transmissions tend to get better mileage than automatics, again depending on how you drive. I have a V-6 with a manual and the mileage varies between 31 mpg (based on gallons at fill up and odometer reading, not a brief snapshot in time by a computer) and 24 mpg, depending on how I drive. I must admit it much more fun when I get only 24 mpg. I know this will also start another debate, but I do get better mileage with premium gas than mid-grade. I also found that my turbos perform better with premium, perhaps my APC needs some adjustment since I get some knocking with the mid-grade.
