If you're dead set on converting the car to propane, try to avoid the Saabs. Just about any 900 that you will find is going have fuel injection, either Bosch CIS or Bosch LH Jetronic. Both are great systems (except for the idle valve on the LH), but you're right, converting to LPG is going to be a bitch, especially if you live in the States (it's hard enough to find gasoline Saab parts sometimes).
