Subject: 900 Turbo running much better when engine is warming up

Hi all, I am having a 94 Classic 900 Turbo special edition. Apparently the engine is tuned for 185Hp... Now the engine runs much better when it is somewhat cool or warming up. (Sure I am not driving the accelerator on the floor when cold). Specifically the acceleration is stronger and more continoous while the engine is not at hot temperature (temp needle not yet in the middle). When the car is at stabilized temp., the accelaraion is much less strong or can be somewhat hectic. Anyone out there having an idea about to do? or having been through similar issues? I have heard that the intercoolers on those cars are not cooling much but before I am planning modification from the standard specs i would like to know if they are other places I should look at. Thanks
