Does the 9-5 > have better reliability and would anyone make the trade? My wife bought a '99 9-5 V6 the same day I bought a '99 S80, and after both of us drove both cars and an S70. I've also driven a V70 when my S80 was in for its 7500 mile service. The 9-5 is a MUCH nicer car than either of the 70-series Volvos. I chose the S80 and am quite happy with it (and it has been trouble-free), but I also like the 9-5. The S80 is a "cushier" car than the 9-5 -- the 9-5 has much better road feel, but the ride of the S80 is more plush. The 9-5 is the one you would have fun with on mountain roads. Quality and finish of the S80 and the 9-5 are pretty much equal. On the down side, the 9-5 has driven my wife crazy with the check engine light -- she's on a first name basis with everyone in the service department, but she's been treated well and thinks it may be fixed.
