I have experienced this, symptoms are, when you put on the brake lights, all lights glow very dimly in the back. In my case, it was a corroded pin on the plug that goes into the taillight assembly. The ground wire goes from the left assembly to the left side of the cross member that splits the spare tire compartment into two. It also runs from the left tail light assembly to the right tail light assembly.
