Subject: Re: Wine in AC

I might be having the same problem. Here are the symptoms I have. Strange whine coming from the climate control system when the fan is making the transition through the middle range of speed settings. Seems to happen only with the A/C, and is most noticeable driving in stop and go city speeds. Also sometimes I can switch over to manual, turn up the fan speed all the way, and the air flow stays low for a couple of minutes before speeding up. I thought it was a slipping belt on the fan drive and took it to the local dealer. He gave me some gobbledygook about it being some manifold thing opening up, and I couldn't re-create everything. He said it was a normal noise, but I don't think so. I have planned on taking the tech for a drive with me but haven't gotten around to it yet. Any ideas? also a 1996 900SE Ken > > > 1996 900 SE > > > There is a low wine comming from my Air Conditioner/ heater . Also, it > > comes on right away, when it is cold IE winter..
