Subject: Re: HELLLP! removing/draining a radiator - HOW?!

Hi, My experience is from the 1983 99 and 1983 900 (both 8-valve NON-turbo in my case, so use my reply with care). I think the engine block may be the same regardless of the number of valves in the head. If I'm telling untruths here, someone please say so. The radiator drain should be on the aft side of the radiator, left hand side. You can also remove both radiator hoses and flush from the bottom upwards, then top down. That way you shouldn't have to remove the radiator from the car - or find the radiator drain for that matter ;-) The block plug should be found under the exhaust manifold. 36mm hexagonal bolt if I remember correctly. In my cars, this plug was replaced by a 220v electric heating coil, for quicker winter starts. As I said earlier, treat the above info as *unreliable* in your case, but you may get hints about where to look. Regards, Robert Gothenburg (1983 900 GL, 1999 9-3 200, once had a 1983 99 GL) "Nate t.
