Subject: Re: Gear shift on 1993 900

I have a 91 900 (same trans.) and I don't have that symptom. I suggest that the clutch/trans fluid be changed with synthetic fluid. This is really a syncro issue that usually disappears with a good synthetic fluid; the clutch fluid NEEDS to be flushed and changed anyway. One trick for shifting gear to reverse without grinding on this car: 1) Put gear in neutral, 2) take foot off clutch, 3) depress clutch and shift to reverse (Reverse is NOT Synchronized on this trans. Similar to many Euro cars). The car is great if it was/is taking care of properly.
