I believe stock hp output for this model year is 165 hp. It's not the engine you have to worry about, it's the transmission. The 2.0 engine on these can put out 400 horsepower (yes, 400!) with the right modifications, but the transmissions are the weak link. If you have an auto transmission, be very careful. If you have the 5-speed on the other hand, you've got nothing to worry about. A stock 5-speed tranny can handle about 240 hp.
