Subject: electrical short in '82 900?

my 1982 Saab 900 is on the 9th year of a rebuilt alternator, and i had a new voltage regulator and battery put in 3.5 years ago. recently, the battery has died. i can recharge it, but it only holds the charge about a week. during that week it cranks fine, but then the battery dies after 6-7 days and it won't turn over at all, but it will crank after jumping. this sounds to me like a short somewhere in the electrical system that is draining the battery over the 6-7 days, since the battery is capable of being charged. any suggestions as to where to look or how to track down possible short sources? thanks for any help. please E-mail instead of posting as i don't check this newsgroup often. scott andrews sha3unopsaminia.edu
