I had the brakes done on my '85 900T about 13,000 miles ago. Since then they have squeaked. I haven't noticed any abnormal wear or loss of braking performance. The pads are Raybestos (not quiet-stop) and I will absolutely avoid them the next time -- they seem to be far from the "bestos" HTH.
