Subject: '99 9-5 Trionic Failure

Just curious after my '99 9-5SE w/4000.2 miles wigged out with the check engine light on...the car wouldn't rev past 2000rpm on my way to work. either in gear or in neutral. Towed it to the dealer, and they told me that the replacement computers are on "Intergalactic Backorder" !!! Dealer parts guy claims that there were 495 replacement cpus on backorder in the US as of late yesterday afternoon. Needless to say, I've got a loaner for the forseeable future. Anyone else have their computer fail? How common a problem is it? Are there improved computers as replacements or will I get another one that is also prone to a similar dangerous hiway failure?
