hello, as stated, I am having trouble with the last step of removal of my alternator in my Saab ('87 900 Turbo 16v). the bolt needs to pull out far enough to allow the mounting "boss" on the side of the alternator to slide out, however it won't because the firewall is in the way. I have tried (since the mounting is a rubber bushing) to pry the back end of the alternator up until it would clear the rear "lug" on the mounting block and slide the alternator off the end of the bolt, but I can't quite twist it far enough. it stops about 1/8+ (not quite a 1/4) of an inch short of clearing it (that's about 3.2 mm for you backwards folks ;-). I'm afraid that if I put a real pry-bar (already was trying a screwdriver, which was flexing alot) and try to muscle it out I might break something. if anyone could help me get it out - I'd really appreciate it. if I do get it out, then I'll also have the problem of how to get the new one back in (since it didn't come out easy). any additional suggestions on that front would be appreciated. THANKS! -- Nate t. G.
