-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- I have an '84 900 turbo with 320,000 miles on the clock. The turbo has finally started leaking too much oil. It still boosts just fine, it just smokes too much. The engine, except for the cylinder head, is original. I had to replace the head at about 280,000 (I overheated it badly) and the cylinders showed very little wear. Even the camshaft and tappets showed no wear. It was just warped. When I did the head gasket on my '93 9000 2.3l, non-turbo at 90,000 miles, I could still see some of the original crosshatch on the cylinders from when they were first honed. The four cylinder engines never wear out if you treat them right. That means watching your oil and running them full-bore whenever possible. They also like it best between 3000 and 6000 rpms. I just saw a similar post at Toyota newsgroup and nobody seemed to have more than 300,000 miles on their cars. I wanted to find out if saab can outlast toyta. Also please specify if you have turbo or non turbo. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP Personal Privacy 6.0.2 iQCVAwUBOV6RXYLLgRU96jMdAQHN5QQAhIs42M7EMk8bf9oiuxXElv0KtqOatWx2 aXJFyBY8qadRdT95TG3scOjJQ5VIQDPK0MntjcvaBBj1H2nMe5pS64k5RJ1ZUPa9 2KgZgl+FvgURtlgsZAyfGtBQbUD7wFMnaCw47n3a2PBmQ6+ZiSizh90nGnlph7x0 edfQ2Gv8QVY= =JZkP -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
