My wife drives a 1994 Saab 900s with a manual transmission. Over the past two years, it has developed a problem starting if the engine is warm. For example, it will start fine on a cold morning and run well for a 5 mile trip to the store. If my wife attempts to restart the car after 15 minutes in the store, the starter motor will not operate. It is not a battery problem: the lights are on and everything seems normal. The engine just will not attempt to start. In recent months, the problem has occured far more frequently. On a recent trip to the outlet shops, we experienced the problem several times. Usually, the car will start just fine if left to set for half an hour or so. It will also start right up if I "jump" start it -- push it along then pop the clutch in second gear. Naturally, this problem never occurs at the dealer and the car always starts right up if left to cool for several hours. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be? I confess I am totally without a clue. Thanks. Tom
