My son inherited my 85 900 turbo and its going strong with 220,000 miles on it. I have about 130,000 miles on my 94 CSE. It has had what I believe are the four most common problems. Fortunately all but one was covered under an extended warrenty. These are: heater core leak, middle muffler replacement, broken bracket between downpipe and catalytic converter (easily fixed by welding), and an alternator burnout. I just remembered that while in Canada last year the ignition module died at 105,000 miles. This was well beyond the warranty and I thought I was in for a large bill but the local Saab agency said that there was a "hidden" warranty on the ignition module (or pack). Apparently there was a problem with them for some period and if anyone shows up with a faulty one it is replaced regardless of how old the car is. It is a great car well worth putting up with some minor troubles. I do change the oil every 4000 miles and service the auto transmission on schedule. Enjoy
