Stay on this group and you will meet many people who have owned and some still own both Volvo and Saab. I still drive an '82 245, obviously nothing like an S80. I used to drive a Classic Saab 900. If I had a choice, I would prefer the 900 over the 245 because it was more fun to drive and handled better in the snow. Which gets to the reason why I no longer drive the 900, the rust from driving the car in the snow and salt killed the body after 16 years. Like you, I don't like the new Volvos, especially when compared to the old Volvos. If I had the money, I would be driving a silver 9-5 wagon now. When my daughter starts driving in six years I will give her the 245 and get a Saab. Yes, you do get used to the ignition between the seats. One thing that does not get mentioned much is if you want a manual transmission, you must buy the Saab. > > > Thank you.
