It is so much easier working on either the motor or the tranny. I'd spend the twenty some dollars getting the engine section of the manual from the dealer to do it properly. The Haynes book is too general to be effective for you particular project. No matter how you do it, my advise to you is to remove the rear engine mount and the intermediate shaft first before removing the transmission. The intermediate shaft is quite easily damaged if you are not careful. (hanging the weight of the tranny on it.) Most of all it make great sense for Saturday mechanics to do it that way because you are going to have a very tough time alinging both the tranny shaft to the flywheel and the differential shaft to the intermediate shaft at the same time. I did mine to the tune of $180. That was the cost for the shaft alone. Worse, it happened after I put the powertrain together with a crack on the shaft and lowered it in the engine. A few thousand miles later, the shaft went and left me stranded 500 miles away from home. Transporting the car home costs $600. -- Yaofeng Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
