Subject: Tire balancing question



I have heard conflicting advice on balancing tires.  The PBS program
'Motorweek' did a feature that advocated balancing off the car using a
special piece of equipment.  One that is not available but would be at the
higher end shops.  They said it did cost more but was worth it.

A local tire store (one that is favored by those seeking High Performance
tires) said that they balance on the car and that that is the best way.
So Saabers...which is it?  On the car or off the car?

This is for my '96 9000 Aero with 60K.
