Turbos designed from the outset course to limit boost with octane of fuel (from classic 900T APC onwards...) Different MON/RON rating in UK but I stick with 97 ESSO Super-unleaded in both '89 8vT and '95 900S. Figure hell, what difference is about 3 pence when we are gonna be paying a quid a litre soon....... :( Then again, I run a '90 V12 Jag here too so I'm probably single handedly propping up the entire UK health service!
